An hour away from Chicago you will find Chain Of Lakes state park. The place has eight miles worth of hiking trails and three natural lakes – Grass, Marie and Nippersink – and the Fox River that connects the other seven lakes (Bluff, Fox, Pistakee, Channel, Petite, Catherine and Redhead) that make up the Chain. Being early spring 4-12-2014, there are barely any leafs on the trees. Many of the shots you will see in this gallery are handheld and HDR. A lot of the areas had controlled burns so not much green grass. The black and white worked out much better for a few of the shots.
