Montrose Hill

City Beach Panoramas

Here are some panoramas from Montrose beach. These are shot from left to right with the camera held in the vertical position. The first one was shot from the hill at sunset.

The next shot is from the right side of the hill. The fence you see is covering up the construction happening that day.

Warmer colors. The fence is covering up the construction work.

Walking further down and closer to the beach. The clouds were creating some interesting shapes and the colors left over from the daylight gave it a purple haze. This one took about seven stitched images.

Now in full darkness and the stars coming out. I used my tripod with the timer set up and shoot opposite the beach to capture the marina. Although the Marina is closed at the moment, there were people working to get it ready for the coming summer.

Finally, when I reached the turn around point at the Pier, I was able to capture a shot of the Chicago skyline from across lake Michigan.

  1. This is just magnificent!! Thank you for visiting my blog…I am truly humbled.

  2. Your black and white shots are lovely, but I particularly like the play of light in this post’s shots. Nicely done, and thanks for following my site. 😀
